Blueberry Biscuits


Nothing beats warm, freshly baked biscuits in the morning. Follow this recipe for buttery, flaky biscuits packed with blueberries and finished with sweet glaze. Pair these Blueberry Biscuits with a hot cup of coffee and you’ll be fueled for the day!

  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ Cup Blueberries
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Cheese Grater
  • Cookie Sheet

Glaze:

  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/8 Cup Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • Small Bowl
  • Basting Brush or Fork

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. Place butter into the freezer.
  3. Sift together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl (see images #1 and #2).
  4. Mix in the milk with the dry ingredients (see image #3).
  5. Use a cheese grater to grate the butter into the dough mixture (see image #4). Fold in all of the butter and knead the dough until all butter is incorporated.
  6. Fold the blueberries in with the dough (see image #5).
  7. Form pieces of dough into biscuits and place on an ungreased cookie sheet (see image #6).
  8. Bake for 7-12 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the biscuits to cool slightly.
  9. *Optional: Mix glaze ingredients in a small bowl. Drizzle glaze over the biscuits with a brush or fork (see images #7 and #8).
  10.  Serve warm with glaze, butter, or jam!
